Kalmia HomeCare is an in-home care service provider based in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Named for Connecticut's hardy state flower, the Kalmia brand represents the resilience the company encourages as clients age with dignity and evokes trust in reliable, personalized services.
The client needed a full brand package, including a logo, website, branded apparel, business card, and more. As the business has continued to expand, they've requested additional materials, such as client handbooks, social media templates, and email templates.
Work was completed while employed at Sagetopia.
I developed a logo with multiple layers of symbolism, incorporating a heart, a shield, a house, and Connecticut's state flower. The serif typeface was chosen to convey a sense of tradition, stability, and trustworthiness, and the gold tones brought a sense of sophistication. The abstract, organic illustrations used on the website and in printed materials kept the brand modern and approachable.
First I designed the logo and the brand. Then I created business cards and developed the website, expanding the brand to include illustrations and additional type styles. Next I designed a flyer and brochures, followed by a client handbook. I also art directed social media templates and consulted on an employee onboarding platform and email newsletter templates.
Each design or deliverable created for the client strengthened the brand and supported the business in its growth, both internally and externally.
